Our purpose at Tyler Street Live is set on:

Loving People  .  Sharing Life  .  Finding Faith

We filter every idea, program, and budget request through our purpose statement.

If what we plan doesn’t help us meet our purpose, then we don’t do it. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind. He said the other is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We commit to loving God because He loves us. We commit to loving people the way Jesus does, selflessly and with integrity. This love compels us to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the world,  sharing our lives with everyone, and inviting them to be a part of His family.

“ My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

     John 15:12

Jesus’ command is clear; we are to love people. Jesus' command also takes courage; we are to love as he loves us - unconditionally, courageously and sacrificially. We are called to love people and we deeply desire to express God’s love to others.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”

Romans 12:15

Someone has rightly said, “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.” Sometimes life brings rejoicing. At other times it brings weeping. We believe that life - both the rejoicing and the weeping - is not meant to be lived in isolation. Rather, life is meant to be shared on the mountaintops, as well as in the valleys.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13

God wants to be found. He really wants to be found! His desire to be found is such that he came in the flesh, Jesus. Not only does he want to be found, he is found by those who seek him. And no matter where we are on the journey, there is more of God to be found. We are a people committed to finding faith, and helping others find faith, too.
