Stepping into any new environment for the first time can be a little intimidating. This is just as true of a church as it is of anywhere else. For this reason we want to give you an idea of what to expect when you attend.

what to expect

Time -  We meet at 11:30 am for a contemporary format that lasts just over an hour. We know....the Bishop Arts grills are getting hot....we promise not to invade your Sunday afternoon nap time.

Kids - Nursery and preschool are available during each service. Sunday School for ages K - 12 is available at 10:40am. Check our Children's Ministry section for more details :)

Dress - Wear what you like. God doesn't care whether you're formal or casual; after all, he looks at the heart. So come as you are comfortable. But come.

Atmosphere - We are so grateful for our newly renovated home, Anderson Hall.  It's a mid-century modern building: well cared-for in the past and updated for today. Our Lobby is comfortable and non-intimidating. You can slip in, grab some coffee,  and sit quietly in the back, if that's your comfort level and mood. Or, you can move down front to be close to the platform and get right into the worship experience.

Music and the Arts - Guitars. Drums. Keyboards. Strobe lights (kidding). The word for music at Tyler Street Live is "engaging".  Some of the music may be new, but over time you'll hear music from a variety of traditions - pop, rock, folk and gospel. We vary musical styles to express different moods, appeal to diverse tastes and augment worship service themes. Our creative arts teams are focused on using technology & resources to create space for you to engage in worship.

Teaching - No need to check your brain at the door. Through study and worship, you will be stimulated by rich, deep, even life-changing ideas about spiritual issues. We take on hard topics honestly, offering both support and encouragement. Since the Bible was written by real people facing real life problems, we search out what message their experiences have for us today.
